In this edition of the Maritime Executive Magazine podcast series, we spoke with Capt. Jim Tobin, the head of the USMMA Alumni Association and Foundation, and with Ivy Barton Suter, an alumnus of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and an advocate for its flagship "Sea Year" program.

The academy's leadership and its student body have implemented many changes in the wake of the 2016 Sea Year standown, and the Alumni Foundation has played a key role in that process - and in making sure that Congress understands USMMA's continued importance. Listen in for an update on the latest developments at USMMA as the academy enters its 75th year in operation.
