Erik Thun Group and Thun Tankers Conduct Naming Ceremony
The Erik Thun Group and Thun Tankers are very pleased to announce that we have completed the naming ceremony for two of our new product/chemical tankers Thun Lidkoping and Thun London at the shipyard AVIC Dingheng Ltd in China, Saturday March 23.
The Erik Thun Group has a long history of building efficient high quality vessels. These vessels, which are the first two in a series of five new-buildings in the L-class, have been carefully tailor made to meet our clients’ high demands. Focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, new regulations and customers’ needs has been key in the development process.
“It is a historic day for our company with the naming of both Thun Lidkoping and Thun London on the same day,” says godmother Alice Brax who is a part of the third generation in the family.
The vessels are being built to the absolute latest design in close cooperation with Odely and the shipyard AVIC. The two vessels are intermediate tankers with a dwt of 18,650 tons and LOA 149.8 meters and are expected to start operating during the spring and summer of 2019. Upon delivery they will enter the Gothia Tanker Alliance network.
