A Korean fishing ship is stranded in Antarctica with 90 passengers aboard. Chile has launched a rescue mission and the country’s navy says the vessel, Kwang Ja Ho, hit the ocean floor about 450m from the coast.

All on board are safe and there is currently no risk of an oil spill as the damage is in the vicinity of drinking water tanks.

The 93-metre trawler was coming from a Peruvian port and carrying 740 tonnes of krill.
