[Brief] On Tuesday morning, the cruise ship MSC Armonia struck a dock at the port of Roatan, Honduras, and appears to have briefly gone aground on an embankment just past the pier.

Video from the scene shows that her port anchor was in the water as she approached the pier. A second eyewitness video made after the impact shows that her starboard anchor was also deployed at some point during the evolution. She backed away from the beach under her own power several minutes after the incident.

In an update, MSC said that "for reasons that are currently still being duly investigated, the ship deviated from her course and grazed the end of the pier." After minor repairs, the Armonia departed Roatan and continued on her voyage.

The Armonia is homeported in Havana, Cuba for seven-night itineraries in the Caribbean. In 2014, she was lengthened and modified at Fincantieri's Palermo shipyard in 2014 as part of MSC's $275 million fleet expansion program.
