Harris Pye Engineering Welcomes Employee

As of February 2014 the Harris Pye Group were excited to announce Richard ‘Ricky’ Porter had joined the group as Refrigeration and HVAC Manager. Ricky will be located in the Dubai JLT office, bringing with him an impressive 45 years of experience within the global marine industry.

Ricky’s new role will consist of many responsibilities - when asked about his main role Ricky confirmed, “I am here to service customer requirements with all aspects of refrigeration, air conditioning and cargo-cooling in the marine and offshore industry.” Ricky continued to account the various and sometimes exotic locations commencing work in the UK, later moving to Brazil and again to Singapore. After this stint he relocated to the UAE and became a resident staying for over 20 years.

Ricky recalled his time in the UK with Dobson’s Marine Refrigeration where he took on the role as Manager for the Singapore office. When Dobson’s were acquired by UNITOR, Ricky carried on his role as acting manager until some 20 years later they were taken over by Wilhelmsen. Ricky has been working in the UAE with them helping to create a well-known name in the industry prior to his move to Harris Pye Engineering.

Ricky’s extensive experience will bring and new strengths to not only his department but across the entire Group globally.
