Dometic to Showcase Sea Xchange XTC at FLIBS

Dometic Marine, a division of Dometic Group, a global provider of leisure products for the marine, truck, caravan, motor home and automotive markets, today announced that it will be showcasing the Dometic Sea Xchange XTC Series watermaker at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from Oct. 30-Nov 3 in Engine Tent Booths 1207-1208 and Yachting Tent Booths 729-730. The Sea Xchange XTC Series is the only automatic watermaker with mechanical redundancy and Dometic’s embedded Smart Touch Integrated Intelligence Control (STIIC) software.

STIIC connects the watermaker to the STIIC network, and interactively communicates with the boat owner, captain or crew member. Accessible from a mobile app, users can monitor the watermaker from one location, such as a car, office or beach house, via mobile phone, tablet or computer.

“STIIC can be used to check the watermaker’s status, change settings, turn it on, turn it off, or diagnose a problem. The Sea Xchange XTC is the first ‘smart’ watermaker. No other watermaker system lets you override automatic operation and switch to mechanical operation, nor does any other watermaker provide two-way interactive intelligence that lets you monitor, control and troubleshoot your system,” said Ken Taranto, VP, Aftermarket Sales for Dometic. “The XTC dramatically increases security, comfort, convenience and safety for boat owners and their passengers, whether they are out at sea or docked in a marina.”

The Sea Xchange XTC Series is ideal for boaters needing larger volumes of water. It has an output of 600 gallons per day (2,271 liters per day) to 2,200 gallons per day (8,328 liters per day). It uses reverse osmosis to turn seawater into fresh, drinkable water, allowing boat owners to keep their water tanks filled to capacity without having to load and transport extra water supplies..

Other reverse osmosis systems on display at the Fort Lauderdale show include the Sea Xchange SE and SX Series watermakers. The Sea Xchange SE Series is ideal for recreational boaters, providing an output of 350 GPD (1,325 LPD) to 800 GPD (3,028 LPD). The SX Series is for boats needing larger volumes of water, providing an output of 600 GPD (2,271 LPD) to 2,200 GPD (8,328 LPD).

Dometic will also showcase freshwater reverse osmosis systems, including the Spot Zero and Spot Zero Double Pass systems. The Dometic Spot Zero system is a freshwater water purification system that rejects about 98% of total dissolved solids (TDS) and other biological contaminants. It provides pure water for spot-free boat washdowns, drinking, icemaking, bathing, and cleaning.

The Double Pass system is designed to process not only dock water, but also product water produced by a watermaker, such as the Dometic Sea Xchange. The Double Pass system reduces parts per million (PPM) of total dissolved solids from 200-500 to about 20 PPM. The Double Pass makes pure spot-free water a reality, not only while at a dock but also offshore.
