Topaz Executives Honoured

The Chief Operating Officer of Topaz Marine, Roy Donaldson was recently elected the new Chairman of IMCA, for its Middle East and India section.

International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) is the international trade association representing offshore, marine and underwater engineering companies. Founded in 1972, IMCA is a self governing body that sets technical and HSE standards within the Offshore and Marine Industry. Topaz has through its subsidiaries Nico Middle East and Bue Marine been a member of IMCA since 1998.

Roy Donaldson, the COO of Topaz Marine, the newly formed Offshore Support Vessel division of Topaz Energy and Marine said after the results were in, “Having been associated with the Offshore and Marine industry for 20 years I have aspired to the standards of IMCA and it is an honour to be elected Chairman for the Middle East and India section.” Roy was the Vice Chairman of IMCA during 2008 and in recognition of his contribution has now been made Chairman.

Fazel A. Fazelbhoy, CEO of Topaz Energy and Marine was recently voted ‘Maritime Personality of the Year’ during the Shiptek Conference & Exhibition in Singapore. Mr. Fazelbhoy was given the maritime excellence award in recognition of his pioneering spirit, demonstrated inventiveness and outstanding contribution to the Maritime Industry.
