A Royal Navy sub, which was grounded off the Isle of Skye October 22, was damaged in a collision with a tug, sent to dislodge it. HMS ASTUTE was grounded on the banks during its passage through the Kyle of Lochalsh off the west coast of Scotland. The tide freed the sub on October 25th, but before the tide came in, the Anglian Prince collided with the HMS Astute. The area of impact was inspected and the sub was able to resume on her own. The Royal Navy has confirmed the collision and says tests will resume after all the damage has been repaired.
