Pirates Demanding $1 Million USD Ransom

Somali pirates want $1 million for Panamanian merchant ship the MV SUEZ. Pirates took the ship on August 2 in the Red Sea.

The ship’s owner, Red Sea Nav. Co., is negotiating the ransom with the pirates. The MV SUEZ has a crew of 23 (Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India Nationalities), and has a cargo of cement bags

Currently, the pirates are holding the vessel off Somalia’s northern coast.
