“Marine Vessel Operations & the Environment”: Basic Environmental Awareness, Management Level

Pacific Maritime Institute announces new, 1 day course targeted at Mid-level and senior vessel and operations managers, Port Captains, Ship Superintendents, deck and engineering ship officers, regulatory agency personnel and inspectors, marine safety and environmental auditors, anyone with environmental management, operational or reporting responsibilities in the maritime industry.

PMI’s course objective cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to Environmental Aspects of vessel operations, Lines in the sea; MARPOL (and US Act to Prevent Pollution From Ships), Flag State and Port State requirements. The Courses are scheduled at the Pacific Maritime Institute (Seattle, WA) on March 16 and April 15, 2009. This course will be a prerequisite for the two-day “EPA Vessel General Permit (NPDES)” course currently under development. Both courses will be combined and offered as a three-day session.
