Fire Breaks Out on Chevron Oil Rig in Southeast Nigeria

A fire has broken out on a Chevron drilling rig in their Funiwa oil facility in southeastern Nigeria. Any rig workers in need of medical assistance have been taken care of by Chevron.

According to a statement from Chevron Nigeria Limited, a fire incident on the K.S. Endeavor jack-up rig has been confirmed. An investigation into the incident is being conducted, but there were no casualty figures reported. The company is still trying to account for all the workers.

Locals in the area reported the explosion in the early hours of Monday morning.
