Empty Yacht Washes Up on Florida Beach

My Fox Tampa Bay reports that the Coast Guard launched a search and rescue mission after a 48 ft Sundance motor yacht washed ashore on St. Petersburg’s Redington Beach, Wednesday.

Detectives suspected foul play when the yacht was found with the engine still running. The $1 million yacht named “Makin Waves” was found with both a Mexican flag and an America flag flying onboard. The vessel has not been reported lost or stolen and was recently registered in Delaware. It appears that the yacht may have changed hands again without record.

The Coast Guard suspended its search Wednesday after nothing was found.
