Cutting Edge Issues in Shipping Conference at SUNY Maritime College

SUNY Maritime College will present their annual, day-long “Cutting Edge Issues in Shipping” conference, Monday, February 2, 2009, on the Maritime College campus, in Throgs Neck, The Bronx, New York City. The free event will be held in the Science & Engineering Building's Lecture Hall.

Piracy, maritime security, as well as the current worldwide fiscal crisis, will be among the topics covered by leading industry experts and SUNY Maritime College faculty.

“Presentations and discussions will focus on many of the most vital issues impacting the international shipping industry today,” noted Dr. Larry Howard, Chairman of the SUNY Maritime College Global Business & Transportation department.

The morning session will run from 8:30 am – 11:30 am. Participants may purchase lunch at the SUNY Maritime College cafeteria, on campus. The afternoon session will begin at 1:00 pm. A complimentary networking reception will follow, beginning at 4:30 pm.

“The conference, in addition to the networking event in the late afternoon, offers all maritime professionals an excellent way to meet the leaders in the field and to interact with other professionals in the industry," said Dr. Howard.
