The Coast Guard Barque Eagle will dock at 10 a.m. for a three-day port call.
The 74-year-old Eagle is an old-fashioned sailing ship with more than 23,500 square feet of sail and six miles of rigging. It is the only square-rigged ship in active government service, sailing every summer to train U.S. Coast Guard officers for a life at sea.
While it's docked, the Eagle will offer free tours on Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors will need to present a valid form of photo identification.
Parking will be available at the Port Everglades Midport parking garage. For more information, call the Port Everglades event hot line at 954-523-3404 or visit porteverglades.net.
