Published Dec 20, 2010 3:57 PM by The Maritime Executive

More than 600 people from 50 local, state and federal agencies, as well as hospitals and airlines, participated in the simulation of a 747 jet crashing into Boston Harbor. 100 cadets from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy acted as injured passengers who waited to be rescued on board a barge that was playing the role of the downed 747. A triage center was also set up on shore to treat the victims. The Coast Guard, FBI, state and Boston police, the Red Cross and the Animal Rescue League all took part in the drill.
