Senator Boxer, who is serving in her fourth term in the Senate, is the chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Senator Boxer introduced the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2013 (S. 601), which promotes investment to strengthen the nation’s critical water resources infrastructure. She also sits on the Senate Commerce Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  Bay Planning Coalition (BPC) is honored to have her at the DMC to speak on the important topics of the WRDA bill, trade, and economic growth in our region.

He has been a tireless Make It In America proponent and advocate for job creation, education, and cutting edge research, while always working to ensure the stability and success of the state he has always called home. He graduated with a BA in business from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School. BPC is honored to welcome Congressman Garamendi to speak at 2013 DMC on strategies to grow our economy through exports and smart American-made investments.

Congressman Eric Swalwell, an East Bay native, is a freshman member of the US House of Representatives, and serves on the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and is the Ranking Member of its Subcommittee on Energy. Swalwell brings new energy, ideas, and a problem-solving spirit to the United States Congress, and BPC welcomes him as the Featured Luncheon Speaker at the 2013 DMC.

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan is the first woman and the first Asian American to be elected Mayor of Oakland.
