Flashback to Greenland's Shipping Past

Published Apr 23, 2014 8:49 PM by The Maritime Executive

In 1998, the legendary polar ship MS Kista Arctica sailed to all the destinations along Greenland’s icy east and north-east coast with Bjarne Rasmussen as navigator. Rasmussen has prepared a film of his experiences on the voyage, providing unique insight into Greenland’s life and dependence on shipping at the time.

Rasmussen has set up a non-profit website (in Danish and English) with information designed to improve safety in Greenland waters: www.iceguide.dk.
