South Korea bracing for war with North over sinking of the Cheonan.

As the South starts its aggressive tactics the North begins to mobilize 1.2 million military. The South has blamed the North for killing 46 sailors in a torpedo strike that sunk the 1,200-ton corvette. The South is ending trade with the North and has banned all of its merchant ships from passing through its territorial waters.

President Lee Myung-Bak has said publicly that the North will pay for its aggression after a multi-national investigation team found overwhelming evidence that a North Korean submarine fired a torpedo that exploded next to the Cheonan sinking it.

Pyongyang flatly denied any involvement and has warned any retaliation means war. The North also claims the South is sending its warships into its waters in a clear violation of international law and said it will take military action to protect its territorial boundaries.

The US is working closely with the South and the 28,500 American troops are on full alert. However, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the US is doing all it can to avoid an outright war.
