GMATS Announces New Training Course

Welding & Pipefitting / Hull Technician Course: October 26 – November 6, 2009.

Course Description

Practical hands on approach to shipboard and industrial welding processes used for fabrication and repair, including shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, oxyacetylene welding and brazing, and metal cutting processes. Weld process theory and applications will provide students with experience in all welding positions on a variety of metal types used in industry, including steel, aluminum and stainless steel. An introduction to marine and industrial pipefitting systems and equipment, including basic hand tools, basic pipefitting tools, piping and tubing, methods of joining piping and tubing, basic valve selection, installation, maintenance of valves, packing and gasket materials, pipe fittings, specialty tools, piping calculations and formula.

There are numerous training opportunities at the Global Maritime and Transportation School (GMATS). Courses can be customized to meet your needs through flexible schedules, locations and course content for group sponsored classes.
