2 Dead in Port Everglades Accident

Two employees have been pronounced dead after a scissor lift collapsed at Port Everglades today around 11 a.m.

A third worker was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, but survived the incident.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the workers were on the scissor lift scaffold performing routine maintenance on a moving walkway that spans the terminal and vessels that dock nearby.

The victims’ identities were not immediately released. An investigation on how the scaffold collapsed is ongoing.
