DNV GL and Tekomar entered into a partnership agreement to improve data exchange and integration between respective performance systems at the SMM trade fair today. The agreement will see Tekomar’s XPERT engine performance expert system integrated into DNV GL’s award winning ECO Insight performance management portal.

“Fleet managers want to have a holistic view of their fleet and still have the possibility to instantly dig into details with specialized expert systems,” said Beat Güttinger, Head of Global Sales and Marketing and co-owner at Tekomar. “With the Tekomar XPERT interfacing with ECO Insight, they get exactly that for their prime mover and auxiliary engines.”

“We are very pleased that Tekomar has chosen us as a partner. Our customers are looking to access information simply and quickly, this cooperation will provide our customers vastly improved access to vital performance information on both platforms,” said Torsten Büssow, Head of Fleet Performance Management at DNV GL – Maritime. “In addition, this type of cooperation will help to improve ECO Insight and XPERT, further boosting the value they provide to our customers.”

DNV GL’s ECO Insight solution will provide advanced fleet performance analytics, enhanced with Tekomar XPERT engine performance indicators on the ECO Insight dashboard. Tekomar XPERT provides performance analysis as well as presenting users with operational and maintenance actions that customers can undertake to achieve fuel savings. The integration will mean that KPI data from engine performance indicators will be exchanged between XPERT and ECO Insight. This will allow fleet managers to see key engine performance indicators in ECO Insight as well as more detailed analytics in Tekomar XPERT. The combination will enable fleet managers to identify operational issues, have an easy over view of their whole fleet and identify low-performers instantly.

DNV GL’s performance management portal ECO Insight enriches customers’ own fleet reports with industry data, such as Automatic Identification System (AIS), weather, or fuel, and provides unique benchmarking capabilities. Advanced engineering methods, for example hull fouling prediction based on CFD, are also packaged into the portal. ECO Insight has become one of the largest performance solutions in shipping since it was launched in 2015. It has been implemented on more than 750 vessels to date.
