The controversial live sheep trade has been dealt a fresh blow with the Israeli government giving support to a bill that would phase out the importation of animals from Australia and Europe for slaughter. Government Suspends License of Biggest Live Sheep Exporter

The live sheep trade has been dealt a massive blow, with the [Australian] government suspending the export license of Emanuel Exports, the biggest exporter and the company responsible for the 2017 Awassi Express shipment that triggered the furore around the industry. Live Sheep Exporters Get Longer Grace Period for Sub-Standard Ships

The government has extended by a year the time it is giving exporters with old ships to continue with sub-standard conditions for sheep carried to the Middle East.
