With the tailor-made health program for seafarers 'MOVE ON BOARD', the maritime service provider ZEABORN Ship Management and the health service provider move UP have won the Human Resources Excellence Award in the category 'Occupational Health Management'. In a live pitch, the team of experts convinced the jury and prevailed against three further nominated projects. The award ceremony took place on November 30, 2018 during a gala in Berlin.

Since 2002, the trade magazine Human Resources Manager and Quadriga Media Berlin have been presenting the Human Resources Excellence Awards to outstanding and forward-looking projects in human resources work. The awards are regarded as the most important industry prize and were awarded in 39 categories this year.

ZEABORN Ship Management is committed to sustainable health management and has first introduced a comprehensive program to promote the health of its employees ashore. Now, in a further cooperation with the health management provider move UP, a health program has been developed specifically for employees on board, who are exposed to particular stresses due to their work. As a result, three online training videos (www.moveonboard.com) were created, which were embedded in a holistic campaign on safety and health-conscious behavior. The tailor-made training concept for seafarers also convinced the expert jury of the HR Excellence Awards.

"Based on a precise stress and movement analysis conducted on the vessels, we created a sustainable health programme: the three-layer online training promotes mobility, improves strength and endurance and relaxes body and mind with mental training," explains Jan-Frederik Kolthoff, Managing Director of move UP, the advantages of 'MOVE ON BOARD'.

Heiko Nies, Managing Director of ZEABORN Crew Management, the subsidiary of ZEABORN Ship Management responsible for manning the vessels, adds: "The safety and health of our seafarers is our top priority. We are convinced that physical fitness and mental balance of the crews are essential for safe ship operations. We are therefore very pleased that the award confirms our approach.”
