On June 3rd Resolve was contacted by PetroJam, Jamaica’s oil refinery, in response to an incident that damaged their main oil & cargo transfer berths. A tanker was scheduled to offload heavy fuel oil on June 2nd when it allided with its berth; damaging a crucial 90ft section of the dock that housed the intake manifolds for nearly all of the LPG (liquid petroleum gas), Ethanol, Gas, Diesel, Heavy oil, and Kerosene lines; essentially interrupting the flow of all the fuels entering Jamaica. Leading satellite communications provider Marlink has signed a new contract with Italian Shipping Company the Grimaldi Group. The new agreement, secured during this year's Nor-Shipping, includes delivery and installation of Marlink's Sealink Ku-band services onboard six Grimaldi passenger vessels operating throughout the Mediterranean. Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, continues work on a contract awarded on March 24, 2009 for the wreck removal and disposal of the remnants of the M/V Fedra which, in October 2008, grounded and partially sank during a storm.
