INMARSAT BGAN RADIO ACCESS NETWORKS UPGRADE CONTRACT FOR THRANE & THRANE Expanded capacity required to meet growing demand from BGAN users Thrane & Thrane's systems division has been awarded a DKK 12.5 mil contract with Inmarsat to increase the capacity of the BGAN Radio Access Networks in Burum, Holland, and Fucino, Italy. The capacity increase is necessary to safeguard the high quality of BGAN as more and more users subscribe to the service. The capacity upgrade that Thrane & Thrane's systems will enable is significant compared to the present capacity. With the upgrade complete, the Burum and Fucino stations will each be able to send and receive 456 carriers, compared to the current 264 carriers. This increases the traffic carrying capacity by almost 73%.
