Skykon Offshore A/S, a subsidiary of Skykon A/S, and Lindø Industrial Park has today signed a lease on 100,000 square meters area corresponding to approx. 10% of the industrial park's total available area.

The leased area includes parts of the original shipyard facilities and a number of buildings for administration, workshop and painting hall etc. for production of foundations for offshore wind turbines. Skykon will take over the facilities this autumn.
"Our facilities are an incredibly good match for Skykon Offshore A/S, and we are very happy that we got this lease agreement in place. With this agreement we have taken another significant step for the industrial park, and ensured the continuation of the extensive production at Lindø which has been of the highest priority for us,” says Michael Nymark Hansen, Senior Vice President, Head of Lindø Industrial Park.
Skykon Offshore A/S will invest hundreds of millions of DKK for the enlargement of their operation at Lindø, and thereby establish another base for the company's rapid and ambitious growth in the production of foundations for offshore wind turbines. Employees, management and board of Lindø Industrial Park welcome the new lessee and look forward to a long and good cooperation.
"As you know, we have for a long time had our eyes on Lindø for production facilities for offshore wind turbines. Lindø can offer extremely attractive production and skilled staff, and we are planning a startup with more than 200 new jobs. With the conclusion of this agreement, we expand our production significantly and thereby firmly establish ourselves in the market as a producer of foundations for offshore wind turbines. The central location of Lindø in relation to projects both in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea has also been a major factor in our decision,” says CEO Jesper Øhlenschlæger, Skykon A/S.
The agreement is long term and run for a minimum of 10 years. Initially Skykon Offshore A/S makes renovations, and will in the first quarter 2011 be ready for disembarkation of the first foundations from Lindø.
"We have at Lindø everything it takes to meet the expansion plans of the players in the heavy industry, including strong political support both locally and nationally. We have direct access to the sea, large production halls, large crane capacity and plenty of storage space. We have knowledgeable staff who gradually is available until the last ship is delivered from Lindø Shipyard. Therefore, we are seeing great interest from many different companies and we will continuously maintain focus and momentum of dialogue with all interested companies in order for Lindø Industrial Park to become Denmark's leading industrial park within heavy industry,” says Michael Nymark Hansen, Senior Vice President, Head of Lindø Industrial Park.
