Seaboard Ship Management, a Miami-area client, has chosen AMOS for a fleetwide implementation of Purchase, Personnel, Replication, and Mail. Seaboard Corporation is made up of a group of uniquely integrated and innovative companies with a broad international presence.
The main business Seaboard Foods, one of the top ten producers of premium pork products in the United States; Seaboard Marine, a containerized shipping service between the United States, the Caribbean Basin, and Central and South America; and Commodity Trading and Milling, an international grain processing and trading business with primary operations in Africa, South America, and the Caribbean.
Other major businesses include: Tabacal Agroindustria, a sugar and citrus producer and processor located in Argentina and Transcontinental Capital Corporation, an independent power producer in the Dominican Republic serving both public and private users and distributors of electricity. Seaboard’s Marine Division is a world-class ocean carrier with container shipping services between the United States, Caribbean Basin, and Central and South America.
Seaboard Marine’s primary operations include a 135,000 square foot warehouse in Miami for cargo consolidation and temporary storage. Seaboard Marine offers a large and comprehensive range of ships including containerships, tweendeckers and roll-on roll-off vessels. Today Seaboard operates its vessels from Sunrise, Florida, just north of Miami.
Seaboard has selected AMOS Purchase to manage the operations of the Sunrise, Florida Headquarter Office and 21 vessel fleet as well as Seaboard’s warehouse sites. As part of the Purchasing system, SpecTec will create a custom interface to JD Edwards. AMOS Personnel will be installed on all sites in addition to remote Crewing Offices located in the Philippines and Poland.
SpecTec US welcomes this unique implementation and new customer in the Miami area which was previously dominated by the cruise sector.
