Mr Gaut is managing director of SCF Partners which is the majority shareholder of Reservoir Group. Prior to joining SCF in 2009, he was president of drilling and evaluation at Halliburton, one of the world’s largest energy service companies. Mr Gaut also served as Halliburton’s executive vice president and chief financial officer from 2003 to 2007.

Pascal Bartette, CEO of Reservoir Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Mr Gaut onto our Board. He brings extensive management and drilling experience and in his role as chairman, he will help Reservoir Group grow towards its objective of becoming a superior downhole service and product provider to the international oil and gas industry.”

Mr Gaut said: “Reservoir Group has successfully positioned itself as a global leader in its field through a carefully planned strategy. I look forward to being involved in further developing this strategy for the Group’s future prosperity.”

Pioneering technologies being developed across Reservoir Group have seen it rapidly emerge as a global leader in providing integrated solutions for the oil and gas industry’s downhole drilling, completion and production sectors.

The Group has successfully grown through acquiring niche, independent market-leading companies including Corpro, Kirk Petrophysics, Storecore, Dowdco, Extreme, InfoAsset and Omega Data Services.

Reservoir Group was recently ranked Number 8 in the Sunday Times 100 Deloitte buyout track, jumping from 44th position in last year’s league table. The Group was one of just six companies which triumphed on the league table of Britain’s fastest-growing private equity backed stars. Reservoir Group bought five businesses in Australia, America and the UK in 2008, effectively doubling the size of the Group.

Reservoir Group is a leading provider of well bore coring services and related technologies. The Group also provides information management services, drilling tools and well bore measurement products to the oil and gas industry.
