PEMA expands, welcomes raft of new members

Thursday, September 25, 2008
The Port Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (PEMA) is pleased to announce the expansion of its membership with the addition of four specialist manufacturing and consulting companies from Europe and the United States. “PEMA’s work supporting the ports sector will be boosted with our new members – all of whom represent key interests in the port equipment industry,” says Ottonel Popesco, PEMA President. The new members include Italian industrial cable chain producer, Brevetti Stendalto, and Franco-German Conductix/Wampfler AG, a leading supplier of energy and data transmission systems, mobile electrification and crane electrification solutions. Also joining PEMA are flexible cable manufacturer Tratos Cavi, from Italy, and US-based consulting engineer firm Liftech, an international specialist in container crane design and engineering. “PEMA makes a valuable contribution to the more efficient working of the ports sector worldwide, and it’s great to see our membership expand as interest in our efforts grows,” Popesco adds. Established in 2004, PEMA represents the interests of the world’s port equipment sector to governments, international agencies and non-governmental organisations. PEMA also provides a forum for members to discuss issues, exchange expertise and reach common positions on industry norms. For more information on PEMA, please visit our website at www.pema.org.
