New Production Director in Ulstein Verft

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Helge Birkeland has been appointed new production director at Ulstein Verft. He has been technical manager at Ulstein Verft since 2008.

Managing director of Ulstein Verft, Karsten Sævik, is pleased to have in place the new production director.

“I am very pleased that we managed to get up a good internal candidate for this position, one who knows the environment well and from a slightly another angle. His know-how and experience from many years of managing technical work makes Birkeland well qualified for the job to follow up production,” he says.

Birkeland looks forward to start in his new position: “I have worked in senior technical positions for several years, and I am ready to use this expertise in other parts of the value chain and to learn shipbuilding from A to Z”, he says, and continues: “I like the high level of activity, and this applies to our qualified production environment. Those who work at Ulstein Verft knows how to build a ship, they are highly qualified and know what to do and also take initiatives to get things done”, says Birkeland.

Birkeland worked as technical director at ODIM in eight years, and a couple of years before in a similar position in the ODIM system. Birkeland starts in the position as fast as he can be released form his current job.
