• Chevron Renames Fuel and Marine Marketing (FAMM) to Chevron Global Marine Products Product names to remain the same worldwide SAN RAMON, California. 28 December 2007 -- Chevron Products Company today announced that it is renaming its marine fuels and lubricants business, effective 1 January 2008, from Fuel & Marine Marketing (FAMM) to Chevron Global Marine Products. The repositioning initiative, an offshoot of the merger between Chevron and Texaco in 2001, will streamline marketing efforts while continuing to provide customers in regions around the globe with access to quality products and services under the company’s three world-class international brands -- Chevron, Texaco and Caltex. "Since the merger of Chevron and Texaco, our global marine business has undergone significant changes that have helped to position us as a major competitor in the marketplace. The renaming will mean that customers will be able to receive quality marine products across the globe under a brand that they know and trust," said Mitch Rubinstein, vice president of Product Supply and Trading, Chevron Global Supply and Trading. FAMM was formed in 1988 as a joint venture between Chevron and Texaco’s marine businesses. In 2001, the two companies merged to become ChevronTexaco, and in 2005 the parent company’s name was changed to Chevron. Throughout this process, the family of legacy product brands -- Chevron, Caltex and Texaco -- has remained constant in each geographical region. Under the repositioning initiative, which reflects Chevron Global Marine Products’ status as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chevron rather than a joint venture, products and services in the same region will be marketed under the same brand, whether they be motor fuels and lubricants or marine fuels and lubricants: -- Texaco in North America, Latin America, Europe, West Africa and other markets that import from these areas -- CaltexTM in most of Asia, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and East Africa -- Chevron in North America, South Korea and India Although marine fuel and lubricants packaging and pails will be changing away from the FAMM master brand, the company’s product technologies will remain globally consistent. And while the master brand may differ, the name of the product will remain the same worldwide - for example, a shipping customer will be able to order Taro 30 DP 40 from Chevron Global Marine Products in all markets. Pedro Cardenes, Chevron general manager for Global Marine Lubricants, said, “Whether you are a marine lubricants or fuels customer, you will continue to deal with the same account manager with the same contact details for the same quality marine products.” Chevron Corporation is one of the world's leading integrated energy companies. We have approximately 58,000 employees, and our subsidiaries conduct business across the entire energy spectrum - exploring for, producing and transporting crude oil and natural gas; refining, marketing and distributing fuels and other energy products and services; manufacturing and selling petrochemical products; generating power; and developing and commercializing the energy resources of the future, including biofuels and other renewables.
