IMarEST Strong Supporter of Seatrade Middle East

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Seatrade Middle East Maritime, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, being held 26-28 October at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center, sees the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) not only an official supporter of the show, but also as an exhibitor with a host of special offers.

As the leading international membership body and learned society for marine professionals, with over 15,000 members worldwide, IMarEST, with its vision of “a world where marine resources and activities are sustained, managed and developed for the benefit of humanity”, has a strong international membership with an extensive marine network of 50 national and international branches. These include the Middle East Division with its active branches in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and Egypt. It also has affiliations with major marine societies around the world, representation on the key marine technical committees and non-governmental status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

“We can deal with members’ enquiries on the stand, and encourage them to bring a friend or colleague with them to sign up, but most of all we enjoy the opportunity of renewing acquaintances with our members,” says Samantha Dawkins, IMarEST’s Manager, Marine Partners and Exhibitions. “Naturally, visitors can pick up the latest copies of MER, Shipping World and Shipbuilder, and Maritime IT and Electronics from the stand."
