Europort Istanbul 2011 Introduces 'Super Yacht Route'
Monday, August 30, 2010
After a period of changing market conditions in the maritime sector, Turkey shows its resilience. The Turkish shipbuilding industry has become more focused on the construction of complex ships and the growing market for super yachts. The leading maritime exhibition Europort Istanbul responds to these market developments with the introduction of a ‘super yacht route’ at the exhibition.
With the introduction of a ‘super yacht route’ Europort Istanbul 2011 offers new opportunities for suppliers of products and services for the super yacht industry. Super yacht builders, designers and project managers in Turkey and the surrounding countries will be personally invited to visit Europort Istanbul 2011. Participants in the ‘super yacht route’ may count on additional exposure. The super yacht companies will be highlighted on the exhibition floor as well as on the floor plan so that they can be recognized by relevant visitors.
Terry van Velzen, director business development from Imtech Marine & Offshore is positive about this new initiative: “For Imtech the growing market for super yachts in Turkey is very important. Therefore I am enthusiastic about the introduction of the ‘Super Yacht Route’ at Europort Istanbul 2011. We will definitely participate in this initiative”.
Exhibition manager Raymond Siliakus of Ahoy Rotterdam is pleased with the introduction of the ‘super yacht route’: “For already 11 editions Europort Istanbul is the matchmaking platform for maritime suppliers and the Turkish shipbuilding industry. At the exhibition we pay attention to recent developments in the maritime sector. With this new initiative Europort Istanbul 2011 exhibitors are assured that they will meet a new target group of high quality visitors.”
Europort Istanbul 2011 will be held from 23 to 26 March 2011 at the Istanbul Expo Center. At the exhibition a wide range of national and international suppliers will be present. Europort Istanbul is visited by around 8,000 maritime professionals, among who delegates with decision-making authority from a large number of Turkish shipyards and ship owners. The leading maritime exhibition in Turkey is organized by Ahoy Rotterdam and NTSR International Exhibition and Congress Organization in exclusive cooperation with the Turkish Chamber of Shipping.
