William Heymann Appointed as Chair of ACEP Cruise Ship Medicine

Effective October 27th, 2014 Dr. William Heymann, Medical Director for MHG Medical Management Services, assumed the role of Chairman for the American College of Emergency Physicians Cruise Ship Medicine Section, of which he was a co-founder.  Dr. Heymann also was an integral part of this group along with the CLIA Medical Facilities Working Group in the development of Health Care Guidelines for Cruise Ship Medical Facilities, which is the generally accepted standard in the cruise industry.  As the Chair, he will coordinate the development of medical guidelines that have been adopted by the international cruise ship industry. 

Dr. Heymann has a fellowship in Cardiology and has studied at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  He is past Chairman of the Department of Critical Care at Cedars Medical Center in Miami (now University of Miami Hospital) a teaching hospital of the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where he practiced as a critical care and emergency physician.  

Dr.. Heymann has served as a medical director or consultant for numerous cruise lines and is currenlty the Medical Director for MHG Medical Management Services, LLC.
