MHG Aims to Change Cruise Industry Standards

MHG Medical Management Services, a dedicated marine medical service provider, has launched its Medical Equipment and X-ray Annual Inspection & Calibration Services Program.  These services are tailored to the cruise industry’s unique requirements.  MHG Medical’s reputation for excellent standards prompted industry operators to propose that they should develop a new service.

MHG Medical’s new program is intended to create standardized processes and raise standards, using U.S. regulations as a benchmark.   The range of services includes status reporting, life-cycle management, asset tracking, strategic planning and expert guidance regarding inventory maintenance or replacement acquisition.

MHG Medical recognized that maintenance of onboard medical and X-ray equipment was fragmented, with no consistency of standards throughout the maritime industry,” said President, Peter Hult. “Without strategic planning, repairs or updates can be costly and time consuming. We devised a way to ensure that our clients to receive a conveniently combined service for biomedical and X-ray equipment, on schedule, and at a location that suits them.”

MHG Medical Services has been expanding their service offerings over the last few months since recognizing a disparity in the industry. Many shipboard medical facilities do not have established maintenance plans and are left to rely on service that is often substandard, especially those arranged locally at ports of call, and at short notice.
