GTT Receives AIP for Mutigas Vessels

Published Oct 24, 2014 8:32 PM by The Maritime Executive

GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz), world leader in the design of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG has announced Approval In Principle (AIP) from CCS (China Classification Society), for its design of multi-gas vessels.

This new AIP confirms that GTT's membrane systems are not limited to the transport of LNG, but stretches to other liquefied gases, such as ethane, ethylene, propane, butane and propylene. It demonstrates GTT's technologies are emerging as a safe and efficient means of transporting multiple types of cryogenic gases in their liquid state.

GTT chairman and CEO Philippe Berterottière, received the AIP certification in Beijing, from CCS chairman and president Sun Licheng on the occasion of CCS Seminar, held in Beijing, on October 23, 2014.

Berterottière declared: "We are delighted to receive this new approval reflecting the partnership between Chinese Classification Society and GTT, and showing the strong willingness for both parties to work together in building the future for liquid gas transportation".
