[VIDEO] Norwegian Navy Blows Up Its Own Ship

Published Jun 10, 2013 2:45 PM by The Maritime Executive

The Norwegian navy blew up one of its own ships to demonstrate the devastating power of its latest missiles.

Decommissioned frigate, KNM Trondheim, was used as the target off the coast of Andoy.

Military bosses captured the dramatic countdown before the new 'Naval Strike Missile' - a four-meter long, 880-pound weapon - is fired in the direction of the vessel.  More footage from onboard camera captures the moment of impact.
