Servowatch Unveils ServoFusion for High-end Automation

Servowatch Systems, the global specialist in marine automation and system integration, has introduced ServoFusion to the marine market, an advanced turnkey solution tailor-made to suit the complex automation and integration requirements of operators of specialist tonnage.

Speaking at the product launch at SMM, Martyn Dickinson, Sales Director, Marine Business Unit, Servowatch Systems, said: ‘ServoFusion offers a variety of options from integrated bridge navigation and platform management to fully integrated turnkey electrical and automation solutions.

“Extensive integration enables us to include the data from various ship systems, including, propulsion plant, electrical systems, auxiliary machinery, tanking and piping arrangements, tank monitoring systems, HVAC, and safety and security management platforms.”

The UK-based company, a business unit of the Electrical & Automation division of India’s engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro, has over 40 years established itself as the leading supplier of sophisticated solutions to the naval, mega-yacht and specialist ship sectors.

Servowatch recently secured a significant contract to provide a complex Integrated Platform Management System for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s new MARS (Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability) tankers, currently under construction by South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME).

The four 38 000gt MARS tankers, which are due for delivery from 2016, will receive a Servowatch scope of supply that includes operator interfaces for all shipboard machinery, such as automation, propulsion control, power management, damage control, onboard training, CCTV and other critical components.

The ServoFusion solution can also incorporate ship safety and security management aspects of the company’s new ServoSecurity offering. This can be integrated into shipboard fire and flood detection systems to optimize emergency management and evacuation processes. The concept is already gaining traction within the damage control function aboard various Naval vessels under construction.

ServoSecurity made headlines in 2012 when Servowatch secured the contract to provide the Maritime Surveillance and Situation Awareness solution, as the primary marine surveillance tool used by the principal authorities during the London Olympics.
