[Event] USCG to Host National Strategic Maritime Risk Stakeholder Alliance Meeting
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) and VACCINE, a United States Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence at Purdue University, are co-hosting the 4th annual maritime risk event: the National Strategic Maritime Risk Stakeholder Alliance Meeting. The event will take place on November 20-21, 2013 in West Lafayette, Indiana. This year’s theme is “Data-Driven Risk-Based Decision Making in the Maritime Domain.” This event brings together world-class academic researchers with “operators” from the federal, state and local level and is designed to stimulate interagency conversation.
Vice Admiral Robert Parker, Commander Atlantic Area, United States Coast Guard, and Assistant Secretary Alan Cohn, Department of Homeland Security Strategy, Planning, Analysis, and Risk are keynote speakers. Rear Admirals Kevin Cook and Peter Brown are invited speakers. Additionally, there will be panel session discussions with subject matter experts, hands-on technology demonstrations, and a student poster competition.
Joe DiRenzo III, Ph.D., Chief Operations Analysis Division (LANT-7) Coast Guard Atlantic Area and David S. Ebert, VACCINE Director and Purdue University Silicon Valley Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, are the national co-chairs of the event.
