21 Missing from Cargo Ship in South China Sea

Seoul's Foreign Ministry is reporting that 21 crew are missing after a cargo ship sunk in the South China Sea.

Contact with the ship was lost after it left Penang in Malaysia. Hong Kong and Vietnam police say that four crew members have been rescued.

Officials have not released the name of the ship or its owner.

UPDATE: According to the Soth Korean Foreign Ministry, fourteen people from sunken cargo ship, the Bright Ruby,  have been rescued by nearby vessels. Seven crew members still remain missing.

The search will continue, as one crew member was rescued almost 20 hours after the ship requested assistance. Seven assisting ships are helping with search and rescue, as well as two helicopters and two Chinese naval vessels. 

The cause of the sinking is still unknown.
