19 Chinese Sailors Return Home After 135 Days in Captivity

On Wednesday afternoon, nineteen sailors from the GOLDEN BLESSING arrived home is Shanghai.

The Chinese and Singapore governments and shipping companies obtained the sailors release on Saturday.

The GOLDEN BLESSING a 14,445 ton Singapore-flagged chemical tanker was sailing from Saudi Arabia to India, when it was hijacked in the Gulf of Aden approximately 90 miles off the Somali coast on June 28.

CNN reported yesterday that a ransom was paid; however the exact amount is unknown. The Seafarers Assistance Program said the ransom amount was less than $7 million.
